Twizel is full of people who take pride in their gardens, and the result is a beautiful and vibrant town. Here at Jake's, we supply all you need to create and maintain your garden, whether you're a resident or a holiday house owner.

Gardening can be hard work, but we sell a huge range of tools and supplies to make it easier and more rewarding. We also sell hundreds of seeds, bedding plants, shrubs and trees, to keep your garden unique and varied.

Bedding Plants

During Spring and Summer, we stock an incredible variety of bedding plants. We sell tomatoes, peas, cucumbers, lettuces, cabbages, courgettes and many other vege plants. And if you want something specific, especially early in the season, we can generally get it in for you in less than a week.

Flowers

In the planting season we have flowers in all shapes and sizes, from tiny bedding flowers to metre-tall roses. As with the vegetables, we can usually order in almost any flower you want, especially early in the season.

Shrubs & Trees

Our range of shrubs and trees includes apples, apricots, black currants, conifers, and many others, from the productive to the decorative. If you have a specific request, we can usually get it in for you - just ask!

Seeds

Seeds are available all year round, in a huge range of vegetables, flowers and native plants.

Fertilisers

We have many fertilisers and other growing aids here at Jake's, including Yates Thrive and Weed'n'Feed.

Compost & Potting Mix

Potting mix, Seed-raising mix and Terracotta mix are all available in 25 litre sacks. Compost is available in 40 litre sacks. Seed-raising mix is also available in smaller quantities.

Pesticides

What's your poison? We stock many herbicides, fungicides and insecticides here at Jake's, from household insect sprays to heavy-duty weed killers.

Our favourite is the potent SIMDOLE S.D.A, which not only eradicates all plants in a 400km radius, but also travels back in time to kill their parents and siblings. This is the stuff that Agent Orange grows up to be.

Irrigation

We have many varieties, lengths and strengths of hose and tubing, as well as hose and tap fittings. We also have sprinkers, and all you need to set up and maintain your own automated irrigation system. And here in Twizel, you'll need it.

Garden Tools

Secateurs, pruning saws, hedge clippers, trowels, hoes, spades, edge trimmers, forks, shovels and just about any other type of garden tool you could ever want - in a wide range of brands and prices.

Gloves

A garden glove, it seems, is not just a garden glove. There are a ridiculous number of styles, colours and sizes available here in the garden glove department, so you can find one that fits you like - excuse me - a glove.

Materials

We sell weed mat, bird netting, windbreak, plastic sheeting and wire mesh by the metre, so you can buy as much or as little as you want. 0.0002 metres of bird netting? Not a problem, sir.
